That's a nice photo... I belong to Trivandrum and often go to Kovalam to watch the sunset. I believe the hotel u're referring to is Hotel Leela Palace. The sea is a bit rough now. If your visit was a month from now, you would have seen a different Kovalam - one that would've stuck to your memories for a long time. The water becomes all blue and you can see the bottom of the sea through the clear water. The sand is now all black in color but is replaced by pure white sand by the sea then. By God, it sure looks like one of those exotic beaches they show in the Discovery Channel by then. You missed it!
