Oak Island

I am not a picture-taking person so no pictures of Oak Island. I can take the camera and forget to take pictures. Oak Island is about 35 miles south of Wilmington. The Island runs east-west so you get to see a sun set over the ocean. I have now been there in June, August, October and January. All of them were great.

How nice to know I am not the only person who takes the camera, but forgets to take pictures. The islands, Outerbanks, and beaches are so nice in Winter, possibly my favorite time.

Mrs. Silvers,
I am not a beach girl anymore but when I do go to the beach I go to Oak Island to relax it is very quiet and peaceful setting for me and my family. My last trip to Oak Island was July of 2006 Now that I live in this beautiful mountain retreat that I call home sweet home. I love it here!

Mrs. Silvers,
I have been to Oak Island and I forgot my camera. I love the beach and when we chose to go to the beach I go to the island. It is a nice place to retreat, its quiet and not alot of people and the people are so friendly But for now I am content and very happy here in the mountains in Asheville NC without the sea shells and ocean waves. Now I reside in my favorite vacation destination, Asheville NC.

I believe it's more of a beautiful sight right there up close and personal then taking pictures anyways. I always forget and my camera is always in my pocketbook. But at least you have the pictures in your head. I bet it was a wonderful place and such a beautiful experience.

I love Oak Island! My family used to have annual reunions there. I love that it's not as crowded and commercial as some of the other beaches people might choose to go to. The shopping in Wilmington is great. Hope you enjoyed the trip!

Ms. Silvers,
I have been to the Outer Banks for a week each time for the last two summers. This sounds like maybe a day trip place. I'd like to go there and take some pictures of the sunset. I like a quiet and peaceful setting with maybe a place to eat out and ride bikes and swim. It is probably closer than Duck in the Outer Banks.

I love Oak Island. As a young girl, every summer my family and I would vacation in Long Beach, NC near Southport! I love photography, but I seem to forget to take picture, or better yet develop them!
